Simon was born on 10th May 1968 and in his school days much prefered rugby and football rather than athletics.  Injuries put a stop to the rugby and Simon started jogging on the roads in 1987.  In 1989 Simon finished 2nd at Borrowdale and from that day he was hooked on fell running.

Simons greatest achievement to date was winning the British Championship in 2002 & 2005.  He also rates his 2nd in the World Skyrunning Series in 2005 as one of his best performances.

Simon is still one of the top fell runners of his generation and consistently performs and finishes high up in all major championships.  He is very highly regarded on the continent as a high level performer.  Injuries in 2006, 2007 & 2009 have temporarily halted his trophy haul, but watch this space!

His favourite races are Borrowdale, Ben Nevis and Kinabalu.  Simon also enjoys racing abroad whenever possible.

Simon became a Dad on the 5th August 2009, when daughter Issie was born.
