How to Order

Online, by phone, with Gift Vouchers and Race Vouchers and Out of Stcok and Back Orders

Online orders:

  • On our Homepage click the button on the left column corresponding to the type of product you wish to purchase, or to the right for your chosen Brand
  • Find the product(s) you wish to purchase
  • For each product, select the size you require (if applicable), the quantity and then click the 'Add to Cart' button
  • A box will be shown (your 'Shopping Cart') containing the product(s) you wish to purchase
  • You can continue shopping from here by selecting the 'continue shopping' button or you can proceed to checkout
  • After you have finished your shopping you can click on the 'View Cart' button on the top bar
  • At the View Cart page, make sure the cart contains the products you wish to order, and make any amendments as required
  • All our products are priced in pounds sterling but you can see the value in alternative currencies by clicking the Currency Converter button
  • Select the postage you require, and then click on the 'Recalculate' button
  • Add the discount code if one is applicable, and then click the 'Recalculate' button
  • Once you are happy then click the 'Express Checkout' button
  • The next page will ask you for your billing and delivery address and contact details
  • The next page 'Pay by Credit/Debit Card' confirms your chosen product(s), your billing and delivery details and also asks for your payment method
  • You can select either an existing Paypal account, or to pay via a credit or debit card
  • You will then be asked to enter your details securely
  • Your bank details will be checked and you will then receive confirmation that your payment has been accepted
  • You will also receive an email from Pete Bland Sports confirming your payment

Phone order:

  • If you wish to place an order by phone, please call us on 01539 731012 Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm. We accept the following payment methods – Visa, Mastercard and Maestro
  • Pete Bland Sports do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties

Gift Vouchers:

  • Currently we are unable to process orders online using Gift Voucher payment. Please telephone us on 01539 731012 Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm to place your order by telephone
  • You will also need to send in your vouchers to Pete Bland Sports at 34-36 Kirkland, Kendal, LA9 5AD

Race Vouchers:

  • Currently we are unable to process orders online using Race Voucher payment. Please telephone us on 01539 731012 Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm to place your order by telephone
  • You will also need to send in your vouchers to Pete Bland Sports at 34-36 Kirkland, Kendal, LA9 5AD
  • Please also note that Race Vouchers are redeemed against the full RRP price of the product (unless it is at a marked sale price). We will then calculate any further discount, if applicable, when you telephone us

Conformity of Goods:

  • We take care to ensure that the general description and specification of products on the Pete Bland Sports website are correct. However, sometimes circumstances beyond our control mean that specifications and descriptions of products may vary. In these cases if you are not happy with the item on receipt then we will issue a full refund for the cost and return postage
  • Colour images of the products are supplied by the manufacturer/supplier, however Pete Bland Sports cannot accept responsibility for any variation in the colour(s) caused by browser software etc.
  • Please also note that prices, availability of goods and special offers are subject to change without notice

Out of Stock or Back Orders:

  • If a product is out of stock or we can only deliver part of your order we will contact you as soon as possible by email and offer you alternatives one of which will include cancelling your order
  • Should you decide to leave any product on back order, you can contact us at any time for any updates on the order. No additional postage will be charged for back-orders.



Shipping methods and delivery times, shipping costs and dispatch confirmation

Shipping methods and delivery times

  • Pete Bland Sports delivers goods worldwide. In the UK we use Royal Mail and once the package has left mainland UK then the item will be delivered to you via their partner service in your country
  • We process and send orders during our main service hours, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Orders received after 2 pm on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday (and also Bank Holidays) will not be processed and dispatched until the Monday
  • Delivery times reflect the value of the goods and the delivery method selected
  • Next Day Delivery is a guaranteed delivery (up until 6 pm) the following day, this includes Saturdays but not Sundays (please note there is an extra charge for Next Day Saturday delivery (see below). Please order before 2 pm for Next Day Delivery. Next Day Deliveries cannot be dispatched on Saturday for Monday delivery. Any Next Day orders taken on Saturday or Sunday will be dispatched on Monday, unless it is a Bank Holiday
  • Goods valued up to £19.99 will be dispatched using Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery service (unless a Next Day service has been requested) and will take 3 days to arrive
  • Goods valued above £20 will be dispatched using Royal Mail's Tracked 48 hour service (unless a Next Day service has been requested) and will take 2 days to arrive
  • Overseas orders are charged accordingly (see delivery charges). Please allow 7 working days for the delivery of overseas orders
  • Please note that on all delivery times Saturday & Sunday are not classed as working days
  • In the case of partial shipments, shipping costs will be charged only once

Shipping Costs:

Unless an offer of free postage applies the following charges are made for UK deliveries:

  • Goods Valued Up to & including £19.99 = £2.00 (Royal Mail 2nd Class)
  • Goods Valued £20 & above = £4.00 (Royal Mail Tracked 48 Hour)
  • Next Day Delivery = £8.00 (Royal Mail Tracked 24 Hour - up until 6 pm)
  • Next Day Saturday Delivery = £10.00 (Royal Mail Saturday Next Day Guaranteed)
  • Delivery Charges EU (Includes Eire): - Standard Delivery - £10 (Airsure or International Signed)
  • Delivery Charges International (Worldwide, non-EU): - Standard Delivery - £15 (Airsure or International Signed)

Dispatch confirmation:

  • Once your order has been dispatched then Pete Bland Sports will send you a confirmation email to your nominated email address.
  • Confirmation of dispatch emails for Next Day orders and Overseas orders will include a Tracking Number

Cancelling your Contract of Service:

You have 14 days after delivery to repeal your contract of purchase. If your goods have not been dispatched then you can email, write or telephone us on 01539 731012 to cancel the order. Your order will be cancelled immediately and your money refunded via Paypal or directly with your bank if a telephone order was made.

  • If you have already received the goods, contact us and return the items within 14 days. Alternatively you can just return the goods to us within 14 days (21 days for overseas customers) in order to qualify for a full refund. Your repeal of purchase will automatically take effect if you return the items within 30 days.
  • If using Royal Mail then return the parcel to us using their regular Tracked delivery and not a Next Day delivery as this is expensive and un-necessary. If you are in the European Union and you cancel your order within 7 working days after the day you receive your goods, and you cancel the whole order, we will refund the standard postage costs you paid as part of that order (if any), in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations. Your statutory rights on cancellation are not affected.  Unfortunately if you are returning items outside the EU Pete Bland Sports will be unable to refund the return postage costs
  • If you paid for Next Day delivery, we will only refund the cost of standard delivery
  • We will not refund any postage charges if you cancel after the 7 working days allowed under the distance Selling Regulations or if you only cancel part of your order
  • Please return the goods to us in packaging using the returns label on the bottom of the invoice, noting down your contact details and requirements - in this case for a refund. All items must be returned in mint condition i.e., have not been worn, altered or washed and all tags have to be attached. Shoes must be in their original box, or bag, and covered with an external wrapping - please do not just tape the box as we need to be able to sell the shoes to another customer in a perfect, unused condition



Exchanges/Refunds, returning incorrect goods, returning faulty goods and refunds


  • We gladly accept exchanges and refunds (within 14 days of receipt). However, we can only refund or exchange non-faulty items that are in their original condition, have not been worn (outside), altered or washed, with all tags attached and in the case of shoes in their original box or bag. In the case of an exchange the new size/product will be dispatched as soon as we have received the article that is being exchanged. It is helpful if you could telephone or email us so that we can, if possible, put the alternative size to one side for you. This may not be possible with Sale or End of Line products and in these cases a refund will be given
  • Please re-wrap the parcel - you can turn the original delivery bag inside out, and attach the Returns Address Label (from the invoice). Complete the returns form included with your order, with a clear indication as to the reason for the return and whether you require an exchange or a refund. This information will help us deal with your return quickly
  • We strongly recommend that you return your items via recorded/signed for delivery as we do not accept responsibility for returned items that fail to reach us. Items remain your property until we have received them
  • For overseas customers, please make sure it is clearly stated on the parcel that the goods are being returned to the manufacturer for a refund/exchange
  • Please note that the returning postage costs (after 7 days) are paid for by the customer. In the case of a refund within 7 days the EU postage costs (standard postage) will be refunded
  • If exchanging goods and the value of the new item is less than that of the one you are returning, we will refund the difference via the original payment method. If exchanging goods and the value of the new item is greater than that of the one you are returning, additional payment will be required before we can despatch your new item
  • All refunds will be issued to the same payment method as the original order
  • We aim to process refunds and exchanges within 5 days. However, please allow up to 14 days during busy periods
  • Any refunds will be credited to your account after we receive your returned goods. If you have paid by Paypal then refunds from returns will be booked onto your PayPal account and you will receive an email from them confirming the refund
  • Payments made on a telephone order will be credited to the payment card used for the initial transaction
  • If the returned merchandise was purchased using a Gift or Race Voucher, a new voucher will be issued
  • In the case of exchanges, replacement items will be sent to Mainland UK addresses, free of a postage charge (for first exchange only), overseas delivery addresses however will incur a postage charge for the customer
  • If you participated in a 'multi buy' offer (e.g. 3 for the price of 2) and return part of this order then any saving that you would have made will be deducted from your total refund. Also if you received a free gift as part of the order then the free gift will also need to be returned. If it is not returned then the cost of the gift will be deducted from your refund amount
  • Refunds are made in the same currency as the purchase and potential losses due to currency fluctuations will not be refunded

Returning Incorrect Goods:

  • If you think you have received the wrong item or an incomplete order then please contact us by email on or by telephone on 01539 731012, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:30 pm. In the case of an incorrect item received Pete Bland Sports will send you the correct item and refund your return postage costs

Returning Faulty Goods:

  • Items from Pete Bland Sports which you believe are of an unsatisfactory quality must be returned to Pete Bland Sports, 34-36 Kirkland, Kendal, LA9 5AD, and we will deal with the manufacturer of the product on your behalf
  • If you still have the original invoice then please use the returns address sticker on the bottom. Please use some form of outer packaging and include a clear and concise letter stating the problem with the item, the action you would like us to take and your address, daytime telephone and email details so that we can contact you
  • Pete Bland Sports will reimburse the cost of postage (EU addresses only) for the return of ‘proven’ faulty goods, but please do not send the goods back on a Next Day delivery, a Recorded/tracked postage will be sufficient as the parcel will still be given a unique number for tracking delivery. Returned faulty goods will only receive a postage refund of a standard tracked postage
  • If you are returning worn faulty goods please ensure they are washed and are in an acceptable condition, this particularly applies to shoes. Please ensure the shoes are cleaned of all mud and are dry. Many shoe manufacturers will not accept wet and soiled shoes for review and we do not like opening 'stinky' parcels. The time taken for us to dry out items will also impact on turnaround time so you may have to wait longer than you anticipated for an outcome

Will I get a refund?

  • The right to a full refund as defined by the Sale of Goods Act (1979) takes place over a very short period of time. Pete Bland Sports defines this period as 14 days from receipt of the goods, so, for example, if a shoes sole unit is coming adrift or lace eyelets have torn then the shoes will be refunded or replaced and the return ‘standard’ postage costs reimbursed within 30 days of your receipt of the product and letting Pete Bland Sports know of the fault
  • The Sale of Goods Act (1979) states that if you have kept the goods for a while then in effect you have ‘accepted’ the goods and have therefore lost your right to a full refund. Pete Bland Sports defines this time as over 30 days. After this time you can ask for a refund however Pete Bland Sports is under no obligation to refund and in these cases will offer a repair, replacement or a full/partial credit note

‘Satisfactory Quality’, ‘Fit for Purpose’ and ‘Wear and Tear’ in relation to off-road running shoes

  • The Sale of Goods Act (1979), states as a general rule that ‘goods should last for a reasonable time and in a reasonable condition’. Off-road running shoes are due special consideration here in view of the type of terrain they are used on and what can be expected as a reasonable ‘life’ of the shoe.
  • All off-road shoes sold by Pete Bland Sports are sold ‘Fit’ for a specific purpose – descriptions of the shoes and their uses are available on the website and advice is available by telephoning or emailing the shop.
  • In some cases shoes are chosen by a customer, which are not suitable for either the terrain or their feet and as such cannot be considered as unsatisfactory or faulty. In these cases Pete Bland Sports can only offer either a replacement or a full or partial credit note at their discretion.
  • Please note that repairs, replacements and credit notes may not be given if you have damaged the goods yourself (ie if you have used them for a purpose not intended by the manufacturer), the damage is caused by normal wear and tear (which does not mean the shoe is unsatisfactory), if the shoe is not suitable for your feet, for example if you excessively pronate or supinate,  or if the goods have lasted for as long as could reasonably be expected based on where and how often they have been used

Problem returns

  • If the item is no longer available, a repair impossible and a replacement (matching make, style and cost) unavailable then a credit note will be issued, its value reflecting the date of sale, the sale cost of the item and the amount the item has been used.
