Timex Corporation is the USA's leading watch manufacturer producing a large and varied line of watches and speed-distance monitors. In 1950 they created the world's first inexpensive yet utterly reliable mechanical watch movement called the Timex. In 1986 Timex introduced its "Ironman Triathlon®," and within a year, it became America's best-selling watch. Diversifying into a full line for men and women it has since became the world's largest selling sports watch, a distinction it has held throughout the 1990s.
