Hydration
It is important to stay well hydrated when training or racing as dehydration negatively affects performance; muscle power and endurance decreases whilst mental fatigue increases. Excessive salt loss through sweating can also lead to cramping problems. It's therefore important to maintain your energy, hydration and salt levels during training and racing.
The most common hydration products are powders and tablets which can easily be diluted with water to give a palatable drink and can be taken before, during and after exercise. These boost your electrolyte and carbohydrate levels aiding performance and recovery. Products with higher levels of electrolytes are particularly useful when exercising in hot climates or weather. The flavour of the products listed below are quite subtle and neither too salty or sweet.
